The Passage - [7/10]

I really enjoyed the dark tone of this book, the beginning was ambiguous enough that I was interested but starting getting too much where I cared less for it. I also really enjoyed the many directions this book took, changing locations, characters, storylines etc (a book needs to do that when its 1000 pages long!). One thing that got me lost was that there were too many characters and many times found myself lost and not knowing/caring who people were. Also, I understand that it's the point of the story, but there seemed no hope or point of these people living life. They are inevitably going to lose to the virals and die out as a human race. It would have been cool if there was an escape route or some alternative ending, because at the end of the day, the humans just got obliterated.
